Nina's Way or the Highway
In this episode they focused squarely on designing wearable, chic fashion. But the designers had to do this for judge Nina Garcia, she of the baleful gaze and knife-in-the-ribs commentary when a designer's creation fails to meet with her approval. Frau Klum informs the designers they must come up with that old reliable, a day-into-evening look for their client -- and out comes Nina. We don't actually hear a crescendo of horror-movie music, but we might as well have. Her Demandingness launches into a list of what she will and wear not wear. Yes to streamlined silhouettes and neutral shades, no to voluminous anything, pleats, prints and anything too colorful. The winner of this challenge gets bragging rights, and the design will be featured in ads placed on top of New York City cabs. Well, that's visibility, anyway, if not exactly the ultimate in class. Tim Gunn tells everybody they have 30 minutes to sketch and then one-on-one consults with Nina. People stream toward the exits, only to find they're locked. After getting what they need at Mood, they start to designer their looks. After everything is done, they head back to Atlas. The next day is Runway Day. Each designer shows their looks and the judges comment on it. One designer is booted. What is going to happe Next?
